The EMG 81-8 is a powerful 8-string electric guitar pickup based on the iconic EMG 81. Thanks to its ceramic magnets and narrow-aperture coils, this humbucker produces an intense and clear tone with a pronounced upper frequency response. It is typically installed in the bridge position, where it provides a cutting sound for leads even in a dense mix. The EMG 81-8 can also be paired with other pickups, such as the classic 81-8/808 set or the versatile 81-8/60-8.
The EMG's solderless design makes installation quick and easy, which is especially convenient for musicians who frequently tune their guitars.
