Small instrumental acoustic screen (reflection filter) for small diaphragm microphones (SDC).
IRF2 is built on the same principles as its "big brother", Reflexion Filter. It forms a small curved wall of perforated aluminum with three layers of polyester fiberboard, separated by air spaces. This design reduces reflections from room surfaces and isolates the microphone from external noise. The IRF2 has a through hole for attaching a pencil or SM57 microphone, which is especially useful when recording a drum kit per channel. This is also useful when recording in the overhead position and helps to better separate the channels.
The IRF2 is ideal for recording pianos, drums and woodwind instruments.
