Albert Augustine developed his original strings with the guidance of Andrés Segovia, the “godfather” of classical guitar. By using nylon to standardize strings that had previously been made of animal gut, their final product changed the world and defined the sound of the guitar in the 20th century. Augustine introduced the modern classical guitar string in 1947 and set the standard to which all other brands would aspire.
