In the world of bass guitars, the Fender Precision Bass is not only the first electric bass, but also the most popular electric bass in the world. It is perhaps the most popular recording bass guitar in history. The Precision is prized as a very reliable workhorse with a one-of-a-kind tone, look and feel. 1957 was a landmark year for this bass when the design moved to a smoother body shape, a new double rectangular coil pickup, an anodized gold pad and a wider fingerboard head. 1959 was a transitional year for the popular Precision Bass, and this classic restoration is a nod to the early models of that year. The body is made of two pieces of selected ash and coated in a perfectly aged Journeyman Relic nitrocellulose lacquer, and the solid maple fingerboard with a '60s-style oval C profile has a 9.5-inch pad and 20 medium jumbo frets for confident playing throughout. The fingerboard is inlaid with black dots. A hand-wound Custom Shop Hand-Wound '62 Precision Bass pickup provides a piercing vintage tone, with master volume, master tone and vintage P-Bass wiring. Other features include a single-layer gold anodized protection pad (pickguard), robust pickup and bridge protection, a vintage-style bass bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage nickel tuners, a vintage truss rod and bone nut. The set includes a luxurious gold-colored case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
