The PRS SE P20E (Fire Red Burst) electro-acoustic guitar combines a compact Parlor-shaped body, warm sound and high-quality electronics. Due to its small dimensions, the guitar is ideal for traveling, studio recording and home playing, especially fingerstyle.
The entire body of the guitar, including the top and bottom, as well as the shell, is made of red mahogany. The use of solid (not laminated) wood significantly improves the resonance and tonal depth of the instrument. Mahogany provides a warm, soft, focused sound with a pronounced midrange and the most «natural» tone. The PRS "X"/Classical hybrid spring system provides better resonance of the top, which makes the sound richer and louder.
The neck is also made of mahogany redwood, and the fretboard and bridge are made of ebony. The Wide Fat neck profile is slightly wider than standard PRS profiles. The extra width provides more space for your fingers, which can be useful for playing complex chords. The neck has 20 frets, which are decorated with bird-shaped markings. The guitar has a short scale length of 24.72 inches (628 mm). This makes it easier to string, makes bends easier, and adds «warmth» to the sound.
The guitar is equipped with a PRS-Voiced Fishman Presys VT piezoelectric pickup. The Fishman Sonitone preamp is located inside the resonator hole. This minimizes interference with the body and preserves the classic look of the guitar, while allowing for easy connection for stage performance or studio recording. At the same time, the pickup maximizes the natural sound of the instrument. For additional sound adjustment, there are volume and tone controls.
