With the American Performer series, Fender is taking quality USA-made guitars to the next level of affordability, with updated pickups, fresh hardware, colorful finishes and some subtle rethinking. The American Performer Jazzmaster stands out as a reimagining of Fender's flagship 1958 design.

Starting with a pioneering 1958 Fender offset body design that still reverberates 60 years later, the American Performer Jazzmaster begins by dressing the guitar in a variety of vibrant finishes. Despite the name, Jazzmaster has found acceptance in many genres. The neck features a "Modern C" shaped profile that blends well with almost any playing style, and a satin finish on the back of the neck for smooth, fast playing.

Aside from looks, the distinctive tone of Fender's flat single coils made a big difference, bringing a subtly different timbre. For the American Performer Jazzmaster, Fender has revised and redesigned these pickups to create the new Yosemite Jazzmaster pickup. They also added a unique Fender Greasebucket tone circuit that allows high frequencies to be cut without losing gain or "clouding" the sound, while maintaining a carefully shaped timbre. In addition to reworking the pickups, Fender took a close look at the hardware. Adding a Strat Synchronized Tremolo bridge was a no-brainer, as it is the standard among "percussive" bridges with six and a half decades of reviews. They've also added ClassicGear tuners, which are smooth-running and make it easy to fine-tune your instrument. As a finishing touch, the oversized headstock is proudly adorned with a '70s-inspired silver Fender logo.
