The Fender Custom Shop 1963 Jaguar Journeyman Relic is a flawless reproduction of the revolutionary solid-body electric guitar that rocked the music world. Introduced in 1962, the Jaguar featured a number of features that represented a radical step forward for Fender. First, it had a shorter 24-inch scale, which made it thinner and easier to bend the strings. The offset waist case not only looked radical, it was comfortable and balanced whether you played standing or sitting. The electronics package was also completely different – a pair of hot shielded single coil pickups with a new switch layout gave the instrument tremendous tonal flexibility. Jaguar had the most complex circuitry of any Fender instrument. Although he and the Jazzmaster were two-circuit guitars, the Jaguar's lead circuitry was more complex. Even the vibrato setting was unique – an adjustable bridge with the ability to turn off the strings and a separate "floating" vibrotail. Meticulously handcrafted in the USA by Fender's elite Custom Shop luthers, the 1963 Jaguar Journeyman Relic is a stunning recreation of this gem of Fender's golden era, complete with stunning visuals, over-the-top playability and tone. The Fender Custom Shop 1963 Jaguar Journeyman Relic features a dynamic pair of hand-wound Jaguar 62 single-coil pickups connected via Jaguar's unique switching system that includes comprehensive preset control over two different circuits. This results in an excellent array of tones ranging from crisp and clear to warm and punchy. You will appreciate this Jag as a lead instrument, your high-speed runs are facilitated by 22 narrow frets and a 9.5" radius AAA rosewood neck.
