At Ibanez, there has always been a goal to be anything but traditional. For over half a century, Ibanez has been pushing the world of guitar manufacturing forward, consistently breaking new ground. It's this drive that led them to become one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to make a name for themselves in Europe and North America. With unparalleled commitment to quality, Ibanez Guitars are considered among the upper echelon by musicians of all playing styles around the world. A quick look at some of the musicians who play Ibanez guitars is sure to leave you very impressed. Artists such as Head and Munky of KoRn, Noodles of the Offspring, Mick Thomson of Slipknot, Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani all trust their sound to Ibanez guitars. Now it's your turn to do the same. Ibanez makes an impressively wide selection of guitars, so you're sure to be able to find one that is perfect for you here. With expertise that is second to none, Ibanez is a name you can trust in the music world.
The Q (Quest) Series encompasses Ibanez's most progressive electric guitars to date. Developed from the ground up, these cutting-edge instruments cater for the newest generation of players — those who seek portable, ergonomic tools that can keep up with the increasingly technical and flamboyant styles spreading across modern rock and metal music.
Features for the forward-thinking
Headless guitars are pushing far beyond the formulas of the past, and Ibanez has fully embraced this shift in contemporary instrument design with its Q Series. Boasting a number of additional unique elements intended to maximise tone, performance and playing comfort — including custom-made pickups, a 'dyna-MIX' switching system, a highly-adjustable 'Mono Tone' bridge and a proprietary string-locking mechanism — the Q Series makes guitarists of all disciplines question the full scope of their creative potential.
Ibanez QX54 – slanted frets for enhanced playability!
With its flat-radius, slanted-fret fingerboard — Ibanez's QX54 model is definitely one for the more "extreme" players! Although subtle compared to fully-fanned fret guitars, the QX54's distinctive 8-degree fret angle enables technically-proficient guitarists to execute fast, intricate techniques more efficiently as the slant accommodates the natural inward tilt of your fingers. It makes perfect sense when you think about it!
Pickups
The R1/Q58 pickups are designed specifically for use with the Ibanez Q54-SFM. They provide a well-defined sound with amazing tonal balance throughout the entire range. The bass is powerful but not muddy, and the highs are bright and clean but never harsh. As a result, each note of the chord is accurate and well audible. With tonal balance and extremely low noise, these pickups perform exceptionally well with both digital and analog effects. The dyna-MIX 9 switch system with Alter switch provides nine tonal variations and can easily switch between humbucker and single-coil modes with a mini switch. One mode is even capable of simulating a humbucking pickup from a two-single-coil configuration.
