Celebrating its 35th year of production, PRS has released a number of new electric guitars, including the SE Hollowbody Standard and Hollowbody II, a reimagining of one of the company's most beloved designs for the more affordable SE line. PRS hollowbody electric guitars were originally conceived by Joe Knags. While the original models from 20 years ago are still available in PRS's USA Core line, these SE models are actually completely redesigned.
The SE Hollowbody Standard uses a mahogany hollowbody body that creates a warm resonant tone. The 22-fret Wide Fat neck, Adjustable Stoptail bridge and 58/15 "S" pickups further contribute to a loud, clean and balanced tone. The PRS 58/15 "S" pickups balance vintage character and modern clarity for a pleasant, yet articulate sound and rich harmonic overtones of vintage humbuckers. It is this warm and clear sonic elixir that has put the 58/15 "S" pickups at the top of many guitarists' list of favorite pickups. The powerful bridge and neck pickups with perfect brightness provide a real sonic punch, from clean sounds to full shreds. Guitar players love these pickups, and you'll love them too.
