Pickups. The original REVSTAR pickups were built from the ground up to bring out the best in every guitar. During the development process, each model was tested with over 50 prototype pickups combining different combinations of wire materials, number of coils, magnets, etc. In the end, the optimal characteristics for each model were chosen, and so REVSTAR pickups were born.

Dry Switch. Yamaha's unique Dry Switch, designed specifically for the Revstar series, gives you the versatility of a cutoff, but with a sound unlike anything you've ever heard before.
By using a passive filter whose circuitry has been carefully designed for superior frequency response, the Dry Switch gets rid of excessive humming low frequencies. The result is a sound that is clean and bright, typical of singles, but devoid of annoying backgrounds. But that's not all. Because the Dry Switch is essentially a passive filter, it works equally well on humbuckers and P90s, creating a uniquely versatile sound.

Special mechanics. The mechanics of the REVSTAR were inspired by the Café Racer motorcycles that were incredibly popular on the streets of London in the '60s. The look of the REVSTAR is just as irrepressible and individual, thanks to specially selected fittings.
