The LTD M-201HT Baritone (Black) electric guitar is ideal for modern metal, djent, and other genres that require an extended bass range. The main feature of this model is its size and tuning. It has a 27-inch scale, which is much longer than the standard 25.5" or 24.75". A long scale is the key to low tuning stability. The guitar is usually tuned to B-E-A-D-F#-B (a fourth below the standard E tuning). This tuning is needed for powerful, «thick» riffs.
The guitar's deck has a classic super-strat shape with sharp «horns», which provides quick access to all frets and emphasizes the aggressive style of the guitar. The body is made of mahogany — a wood that resonates well and provides a rich tone. The neck is made of maple, has a bolt-on fastening, a rosewood fingerboard and consists of three pieces, which improves the stability of the structure. Its extra-narrow U-shaped profile is ideal for aggressive, fast solos and riffs. The neck has 24 Extra Jumbo (XJ) frets with dot markers.
The guitar uses a minimalist electronics scheme. It has a single LH-150B humbucker with an antique nickel finish in the bridge position. The pickup provides a high output signal (Hot Output), which is necessary for playing with strong distortion. The only control is the volume control. It has a built-in Push/Pull function, which allows you to turn the humbucker into a single by cutting off one of the coils.
The guitar has a fixed bridge with strings stretched through the body. This design provides maximum tuning stability at its low settings. It also increases the transmission of vibration from the strings to the body, which enhances sustain and resonance. These are key characteristics for baritone guitars.
