Electric guitar PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo (Orange Tiger Smokeburst) combines the capabilities of an electric guitar and an acoustic instrument. Thanks to the body, which contains a cavity inside (Hollowbody), a resonant acoustic tone is provided. At the same time, the guitar can be used even without connecting to an amplifier.
The guitar's deck has a double cutaway, which provides convenient access to all frets. The top and bottom of the body are made of maple and have a decorative coating of wavy maple (Figured Maple Veneer), while the shell is made of mahogany.
The guitar's neck is glued and made of mahogany. It has a wide and thick profile with a radius of 10 inches, convenient for blues and chords. The neck pad is made of ebony (Ebony). The neck has 22 frets with branded bird markers. There is also a decorative Ivory edging on the body and neck. The scale length of the guitar is standard for most PRS models — 25 inches.
The instrument has a dual pickup system. It is equipped with two 58/15 LT "S" humbuckers (with low winding) and a piezo pickup LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, which is located under the bridge saddles and captures the acoustic vibrations of the body.
At the same time, the guitar has two volume controls (Magnetic Volume and Piezo Volume) and two outputs (Magnetic Output and Mix/Piezo Output). This allows you to mix the electric and acoustic tone and feed it into one amplifier. You can also separate the signals, for example, send the signal from the magnetic pickups to the amplifier, and the signal from the piezo pickup to the mixing console or acoustic combo.
