Electric guitar PRS SE Swamp Ash Special (Charcoal) is one of the most versatile guitars in the SE series. Thanks to the special choice of body wood and the H-S-H pickup configuration, this model «covers» a wide range of different musical genres — from country and blues to rock and jazz.
The guitar body is made of Swamp Ash. This wood is known for its lightness and provides bright, ringing highs and tight bass. This is a key element that forms the instrument’s signature tone. The model also has a bolt-on maple neck and maple inlay, which further emphasizes the brightness and articulation of the sound. The neck has 22 frets with bird-shaped inlays. The guitar has a 25-inch scale, which is standard for most PRS models.
The guitar is equipped with two 85/15 humbuckers (bridge and neck) and one single in the middle. The specially designed PRS-Designed AS-01 Single Coil (Alnico + Steel) is ideal for playing in genres such as country rock and blues, where strong distortion is not required. The electronics are controlled by a 5-way switch, volume control and tone control. At the same time, the tone control has a built-in Push/Pull function, which allows you to «cut off» the humbucker coils.
The guitar also has a patented PRS tremolo system, which allows you to perform various tunings with a lower tuning using a lever. Thanks to the nickel-plated PRS Designed Tuners, the guitar keeps the tuning well even with intensive use of the tremolo and bends.
