This will give you the ability to play silently while still hearing the acoustic tone. If you play an acoustic guitar, you have the hardest choice. You can buy a travel acoustic guitar, but the disadvantage is that you will not be able to play in silence, and it will be larger than many silent portable electric/acoustic instruments. There are many acoustic travel guitars that produce good quality sound, but don't expect amazing results. Your travel guitar probably won't sound as good as a regular guitar, and that's okay. The goal is to get a portable guitar that you can play away from home. So there's nothing wrong with giving up sound quality if you can take your guitar with you on a trip.
