Guitar effects pedal NUX NOD-1 Horseman

The NUX NOD-1 Horseman guitar effects pedal is a unique dual-channel overdrive that combines the legendary Centaur sound with a compact design. It is an excellent alternative version of the classic Centaur pedal, popular in the '90s, but in a modern execution that allows you to achieve two different sounds: Gold and Silver.

Gold Mode mimics the original transparent Centaur overdrive, delivering a clean, natural sound with moderate overdrive levels. Silver Mode, on the other hand, provides an extended gain range for a more aggressive sound characteristic of the Silver Centaur.

The new NUX Horseman design uses a built-in OP-AMP for voltage conversion, allowing the pedal to run on 18V power. This enables the pedal to function as a clean boost, adding volume without significant tonal shifts when you set a low gain level and high output.

The pedal also uses special Schottky diodes, which provide a characteristic signal distortion that is hard to achieve with other types of diodes. This allows the NUX Horseman to achieve a natural, pleasant sound with a warm character.

The pedal supports two bypass modes — True Bypass to preserve signal purity when the pedal is off, and Buffer Bypass, which prevents signal loss when used with many pedals in the chain.

Thanks to its compact size and a variety of settings, the NUX NOD-1 Horseman is an excellent choice for musicians who want classic overdrive sound in a small, convenient package.
