The speaker power, as well as the variety and quality of tones, including organs and electric pianos, are significantly improved compared to the predecessor P-515.

The wooden keyboard, highly praised for its comfort, has been replaced with the 88-key GrandTouch-S™ keyboard model from NWX. This further enhances the sensation of playing, bringing it even closer to the touch of a grand piano. With features like registration memory for saving and recalling settings, and other convenient features for live performances, the P-525 is also well-suited for use as a stage piano.

Sound emulation of two world-class concert grand pianos in a compact housing

The P-525 is equipped with the tones of the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial. CFX is characterized by brilliant high frequencies and powerful bass, while the Imperial has a warm sound known as the Viennese tone. Despite its compact size, the P-525 allows you to fully experience the excellent qualities of these two grand pianos.

The engineers who achieved these improvements are experts in the sound of electric organs and electric pianos, as well as the associated musical culture. Their efforts to create an accurate, high-quality imitation of familiar sounds—such as the organ attack and the distinctive sound of its speakers with Leslie effect, reverb, distortions, and other sound effects of electric pianos that defined the pop music of the 70s and 80s—result in a realistic, captivating experience that makes you feel like you are truly playing these instruments.

Convenient features for live performances

The P-525 is equipped with registration memory for saving and recalling settings, making it useful and convenient for intimate live performances in cafes, bars, and other small venues. You can program all tones and rhythms without leaving home and call them up on the spot when you are ready to play. It's also easy to switch between tones in the middle of a song. Other features include Sound Boost and a customizable equalizer to make the piano audible when playing with other instruments in a group.

Using advanced technologies to emulate rich resonance created by the mechanism of an acoustic grand piano. Acoustic grand pianos produce sound through the complex movements of a vast number of parts, such as hammers connected to keys, striking strings inside a wooden body, which enhances the sound. This mechanism, refined over centuries, is absent in digital pianos.

Yamaha uses patented know-how and technologies to emulate the sound produced by the grand piano mechanism in its digital pianos. Digital Grand Expression Modeling imitates tonal variations, accurately recognizing the smallest differences in the player's input speed and intensity.

Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) simulates and outputs rich tones created by vibrations and sympathetic resonance of strings, dampers, body, and duplex scaling of the grand piano in response to key presses.

Deep, clear, natural sound

Two-way speakers reproduce all sounds clearly, starting from deep bass and ending with light high frequencies, without distortion and noise. We slightly tilted the speakers towards the player to surround you with pleasant sounds while playing.

Speaker housings are also improved. Phase inverter ports, expanding, and proprietary sound-absorbing tubes are used to significantly reduce vibrational noise and other excess noises that usually come from speakers. This allows for a higher sound quality during performances.

The P-525 is the first digital piano equipped with an FIR filter. The FIR filter is used for precise tuning of the sound phase, allowing people in the same room as the player to hear the natural sound.

Convenient access to functions with the Yamaha Smart Pianist app

By connecting the P-525 to the special Yamaha Smart Pianist digital piano app, you can intuitively perform all operations on the P-525 from your smart device's screen. There is no need for instructions to understand how everything works.

Clear sound even at low volume. Have you ever reduced the volume due to concerns about sound leakage, only to find that the instrument becomes less audible or playing on it becomes less enjoyable? The P-525 is equipped with Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC), which automatically adjusts the sound quality according to volume settings. This system makes it easier to perceive the reproduced sound, slightly increasing the volume of high and low frequencies to match the characteristics of the human ear, which usually finds it difficult to distinguish upper and lower ranges at low volume.

Now the P-525 offers this feature when using headphones. This reduces the load on the ears and allows you to comfortably enjoy playing, even if you wear headphones for an extended period.

Available special stand and sustain pedal for a more authentic performance

If you want to play the P-525 like an acoustic piano, not just on a table or stand, the package includes an additional L-515 stand and a three-pedal LP-1 unit (including a damper pedal with half-pedal function), which works the same way as the pedals on a grand piano.

Connect the P-525 to a smart device and record video and sound simultaneously to complete the video.

Bluetooth audio and MIDI functionality for even more enjoyment 

The P-525 is equipped with Bluetooth, allowing you to connect this instrument to a smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth support and listen to your favorite music through the instrument's speakers. You can also playback the sound coming from the instrument's speakers.

In addition, the built-in Bluetooth MIDI feature allows you to use the Smart Pianist app via wireless connection.
