Arturia has introduced Pigments 6 — the new version of its flagship software synthesizer, promising to take modern sound design to the next level. In this version, users will gain access to the latest Modal Engine, enhanced filters, an entirely new vocoder, improved granular synthesis functionality, and new modulation capabilities. Along with numerous improvements, Pigments 6 offers tools for creating multifaceted and unique sounds.

_Synthesizer for Sound Design
Pigments is a software synthesizer with an intuitive interface that supports various types of synthesis, including virtual-analog, granular, and wavetable. It provides extensive possibilities for sound design and modulation, encouraging experimentation and the creation of complex patches. Explore deep sound design with Pigments — from playful discoveries to intricate modulations and patch creation.
_Pigments 6 – What's New?
The new version of Pigments features a new Modal engine, significantly expanding sound creation possibilities. It includes three new filters, a new vocoder effect, and four new modulators, along with an improved granular engine. Additionally, the interface has been updated to be even more user-friendly and intuitive. These innovations open a new chapter in Pigments' evolution, offering unprecedented freedom for creative sound design.
New Modal Engine
The new modal engine allows for sound creation based on physical modeling, using resonators in the form of strings or beams. You will be able to generate both decaying tones that arise from collisions and textures based on friction, opening up new possibilities for realistic and experimental sound design.

Vocoder Effect
The new vocoder effect in Pigments allows you to add both classic robotic tones and avant-garde vocal textures to your patches. You can modulate them using external audio or signals taken from various points in the Pigments audio path, opening up vast possibilities for sound experimentation and creating unique effects.
New Filters
Pigments introduces three new filters: Multimode V2, which has an analog character and offers flexible sound design possibilities, Cluster filter, which allows you to create multi-layered, twisted textures, and LoFi, which adds a rich vintage hue and characteristic crunch to the sound.

New Modulators
Enhance the expressiveness of your sound with new modulation tools in Pigments. The Voice Modulator allows for dynamic sound variations, the Envelope Follower reacts to changes in the incoming signal, and the updated Functions provide new possibilities for generating unique modulation curves, offering even more control over the creation of complex sound textures.
Granular Synthesis Improvements
In Pigments, you can scan samples during playback, creating atmospheric effects with time-stretching. The updated granular engine allows for random grain playback for each note and enables grain size adjustment for smooth, evolving textures. These features provide greater control over the creation of complex, dynamic sounds.
Graphic Interface Update
The updated Pigments interface offers an enhanced workflow with drag-and-drop modulation, an improved file browser for easier searching and organizing of files, and a new layout with both light and dark themes, making the program even more convenient and enjoyable to use.
Existing users can update the software for free and take advantage of special offers on the Explorations preset bundles, while new users have the opportunity to purchase Pigments at a discounted price along with access to these expansions.
