Lag guitars originated when Michel Lag, a talented musician and guitar enthusiast, inherited his grandfather's leather workshop in Toulouse. Like most specialized guitar brands, Lag has its origins in a humble place where fresh enthusiasm and dedication to craftsmanship prevailed. Nearly forty years later, Lag Guitars have become a popular choice for musicians around the world. With many accolades and awards to its credit, Lag Guitars is without a doubt one of the most respected brands on the market today.

Lag Guitars are used by a very impressive list of talented musicians. Names like Grammy-nominated Jay Azzolina, Gus G (lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne), Brendan Benson of the Raconteurs, Josh Rand of Stone Sour and many others all love the sound of their Lag Guitars.
Building on their years of experience and enriched by their collaboration with Maurice Dupont, the Lâg brand decided to expand the Tramontane line with the 177 series, including several special models. Indeed, born out of a desire to get off the beaten path, this collection offers special formats and allows the musician to explore different musical universes with guitars at unbeatable value for money.
The T177BCE is an electric acoustic jumbo bass guitar with a solid Engelmann spruce top, laminated back and mahogany fingerboard (a tropical wood belonging to the mahogany family, with a texture similar to Honduran mahogany and a sound with present mids, muted bass and treble) and brownwood fingerboard. Brownwood is a perfect substitute for rosewood, derived from short-cylinder pine from New Zealand. Guitars in this series are equipped with Stage-Lâg electronics.
