From April 4 to 6, Drum Island Fest — a large-scale festival and competition for young musicians and all percussion enthusiasts — took place at the "Krakiv" Cultural Complex in Kyiv. The event brought together talented drummers from across the country, offering numerous masterclasses, live interactions, and unforgettable experiences.
test.musician.ua had the honor of partnering with the festival and setting up a Lounge Zone featuring unique percussion instruments. For three days, the area was full of life. Young musicians, parents, teachers, and special guests — including Yevhen Khmara, singer Lali Erghemlidze, bassist Serhii Leshchuk, Volodymyr Pihenko, and Yevhen Dudnyk — eagerly explored a wide range of percussion instruments such as the xylophone, hang drum, tongue drums, cajóns, djembes, darbukas, and more. It was incredible to witness children discovering the world of percussion!
A special moment of the festival was the performance by Dmytro Konovalchuk on stage with the Vancore PSV1001 (3.0 OST) vibraphone — an instrument that captivated the audience with its deep, magical sound.
According to Dmytro, this instrument offers a completely different perception of drums, which is why learning to play the vibraphone is so worthwhile.
test.musician.ua sincerely thanks the organizers of Drum Island Fest for their incredible initiative and contribution to the development of drum culture in Ukraine. We are proud to be part of this important musical event!
