Like many people at the moment, our team is currently operating in a remote and virtual office environment. Almost our entire team is working from home with a few exceptions made to those who need specific facilities that are only available onsite in our Vienna office or our production facilities. It may not exactly be business as usual; however, we quickly have settled into our home workspaces and have been able to transition into this new remote digital sphere. Our setup is exceptionally futuristic, and everything feels dreadfully real. It’s almost like The Matrix, but with less Kung Fu, worse internet connection, and much more sitting.
Some things have significantly helped us to switch to this virtual format of daily life effectively. For that reason, we would like to share with you some of the experiences that we’ve recognized as key to managing all of our operations for the world online.
Staying connected as a team
Connectedness is a vital part of this story – and not just in terms of communicating things work-related, but also managing to keep our sense of togetherness as a team alive! It just doesn’t feel right, when you can’t meet at the coffee machine to talk about yesterday’s episode of “insert your own favorite show to create a sensation of connectedness”. So we are currently using multiple chatrooms for different purposes in order to keep each other updated and in the loop with respect to memes, strategy, and operations as well as for pure digital socializing.
For example, it was surprisingly entertaining to participate in our first virtual work party last night on Zoom featuring cat vision an integral part of any good party.
Staying connected to you
We want to keep connected to you too. Hence, we are also in the midst of developing new ways to connect and take this concept even further through experimenting with new streaming and live-chat experiences across our social media channels, so we can get to know you better and talk about gear, mics, more gear, gear, mics, the possibilities are endless. We really want to share what we have learned so far with respect to the technical implications of maintaining togetherness in a hyper-connected digital world, i.e. how we can improve these experiences in terms of breaking the seams between virtual and real – Something that audio is very important for!

Tools and improvisation
Everyone needs their bit of kit to get the job done. This can be a challenge when tools and resources become restricted, which can require a bit of creative problem-solving. Take an intimate peek into the home workspaces of our virtual office from the multiple departments of LEWITT. They aren’t as fab as our beautiful Vienna office, which we are missing, but they offer something cozy in its temporary absence. Here we are, as highly motivated as we can at 9:00 am in the morning.
