The Sabian 18" XSR Monarch is a medium-thin crash with a focused, straightforward sound and a distinctive vintage tone. It has a dark, dry tone, excellent crashability, and a very musical response. The Monarch cuts through the mix easily but doesn't sound harsh—on the contrary, it has a soft attack and restrained sustain, making it versatile for live performances and studio work. The cymbal is made of B20 bronze alloy (80% copper, 20% tin), which provides a deep tone, natural warmth, and durability typical of professional models.
