The Sabian 8" Chopper is a unique percussion effect designed specifically for those who want to add sharp, crisp, and ultra-fast accents to their set. Its innovative three-layer design sets it apart from traditional effect cymbals: metal plates of different shapes and thicknesses are layered on top of each other to create a dense, “white” noise strike with instant decay. This gives the Chopper lightning-fast response, literally “shooting” out every accent. It can be mounted on a standard cymbal stand and works great in both drum kits and percussion setups. The Chopper is ideal for modern music that requires fast rhythmic effects, short textural accents, or aggressive inserts over the main part.
