The Shure MX392/O is an omnidirectional boundary microphone designed for high-quality voice capture in PA and teleconferencing applications in government, institutional, religious, and business environments. It has a TTL Logic LED input and TTL Logic switch output, as well as a 12-foot (3.66 m) cable coming out of the back of the unit. Its sleek, low-profile design is ideal for conference rooms and other locations where minimal microphone visibility is a priority and aesthetics are important.

The microphone has an omnidirectional polar pattern, which is best used for multiple people sitting in a circle. The microphone takes advantage of the edge effect to capture clear speech with reduced room ambience for intelligibility. The interchangeable capsule design provides greater flexibility and makes it easy to reconfigure the microphone's directivity as needed. The MX392/O features a silent membrane switch that can be logically controlled remotely by a variety of automatic mixers, teleconferencing systems and control systems. A two-color LED indicates the status of the microphone. It is resistant to interference from devices such as cell phones and two-way communication devices. It requires a phantom voltage of 11 to 52 V to operate.
