The AKG C414 XLII is a versatile condenser microphone with broad capabilities, designed for professional sound recording and live performances. It offers a selection of nine different polar patterns, allowing you to perfectly adjust it for various recording conditions. One of the key features is the peak hold LED indicator, which shows even the shortest overloads, making the microphone convenient for use in high sound pressure conditions.
The feature of the C414 XLII model is its capsule, which provides a slight presence boost, making the sound clearer and more open. This is similar to the legendary AKG C12 microphone from 1953, known for its spatial accuracy and warm sound.
With a wide frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, high sensitivity (23 mV/Pa), and low noise level (6 dB-A), this microphone delivers clear and detailed sound. It can handle extremely high sound pressure levels up to 158 dB SPL, making it suitable for recording the loudest sound sources.
The C414 XLII is equipped with pre-attenuation functions of -6, -12, and -18 dB, as well as low-frequency filters to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise at 40, 80, and 160 Hz. The microphone has an electrical impedance of less than 200 ohms and requires 48 V phantom power.
The compact and durable metal housing of the microphone ensures longevity. The package includes the H85 universal shock mount, PF80 pop filter, W414 windscreen, and a metal carrying case for transport.
