The Electro-Voice ND66 is a reliable, high-performance, small-diaphragm condenser instrument microphone. The ND66 contains a self-dissipating, small-diaphragm condenser element that responds brilliantly to the complex dynamic nature of drums and strings, delivering clean, crisp, and detailed sound. The exclusive locking rotating head allows you to achieve the perfect mic position in virtually any situation by simply pressing a button, rotating the head to the desired position, and then releasing the button to lock in position. The ND66 contains a selectable -10 and -20 dB pad that provides the necessary gain reduction to prevent overloading the microphone element when miking very loud or highly variable sound sources. Proper setup will help avoid overloading the built-in preamp when miking very loud or highly variable sound sources. The ND66 contains a selectable high-pass filter that is strategically selected at 75 and 150 Hz to eliminate unpleasant low frequencies from the signal path. Adjusting the filter setting requires a small flat head screwdriver (or other means of sliding the switch) using the switch slot as a lever.
