The Electro-Voice ND68 is a reliable, high-performance dynamic supercardioid microphone for drums and low-frequency instruments. The ND68's supercardioid polar pattern provides excellent acoustic isolation from nearby instruments, and its voicing characteristics produce deep lows and smooth mids, as well as high-frequency sound for aggressive treble punch. The ND68 dynamic capsule contains a large Mylar diaphragm that produces a rich and detailed frequency response through a combination of a large surface area for tonal balance and a low-mass, high-velocity material for exceptionally fast transient response. The ND68 capsule is capable of withstanding 144 dB SPL and provides comfortable microphones for high SPL sources. The ND68 capsule uses a humbucker coil to reduce AC hum and EMI. Dynamic ND microphones can be safely used near acoustic cabinets and racks with equipment that generates EMI. The ND68 Memraflex grating is made from a durable, dense mesh that can withstand extremely rough handling. Your microphone stays protected and looks good from gig to gig, year to year. For added protection, the ND68 capsule contains a hydrophobic fabric membrane that prevents moisture and debris from reaching the diaphragm.
