The AKG C518 ML is a professional instrument microphone designed for recording drums and percussion both in the studio and on stage. Its cardioid polar pattern effectively isolates the sound of the instrument from surrounding noise, minimizing interference from nearby sources. A secure clamp-style mount makes it easy to attach the microphone to the rim of drums or percussion instruments, while a special stabilizer keeps the flexible gooseneck in the desired position.
The C518 ML connects via a mini-XLR connector and is designed for use with PT40/45/450/470 transmitters. The package includes an A400 adapter plate for convenient mounting, a 1.5 m mini-XLR cable, windscreen, H518 drum mount, and a carrying bag. The microphone offers a frequency range of 60 to 20000 Hz, sensitivity of 5 mV/Pa, impedance of 200 Ohms, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 63 dB-A.
The microphone features a compact metal body with a matte black finish and weighs 220 g.
