The Electro-Voice RE90HW is part of the RE Series of architectural microphones and is highly immune to radio frequency interference (RFI/GSM) thanks to EV's exclusive RF Shield technology. The RE90HW is a back-electret condenser boom microphone that delivers an extended, flat frequency response with a controlled cardioid polar pattern for high-quality sound reinforcement. The RE90HW is specifically designed for live scoring of choirs, instrumental and vocal groups, as well as theatrical productions. The size and color of the transducer and cable allow the microphone to blend into its surroundings. The RE90HW combines low self-noise and high output levels with low-noise sound reinforcement and recording. Exceptionally high sensitivity, uniform cardioid polar response, and smooth frequency response make the RE90HW ideal for capturing distant sounds. The cardioid polar polar pattern is precisely controlled and very effective at suppressing feedback without coloring the sound. The RE90HW is powered from any phantom source with voltage from 9 to 52 volts. The RE90HW comes with 25 feet of miniature braided shielded cable. The cable design ensures a stable horizontal position of the microphone without the need to tie it to a fishing line. The RE90HW microphone is easily aimed at the performance using the included steel wire hanger and locking nut. The suspension wire attached to the microphone element and cable can be bent to direct the microphone in a vertical plane. To install the microphone horizontally, you need to loosen the locking nut on the back of the microphone and slightly rotate the microphone on the wire holder (rotating clockwise turns the RE90HW to the left, counterclockwise turns it to the right). Secure this position by tightening the retaining nut.
