The MIDAS NEUTRON processor unit is a powerful central element of the mixing system, designed for professional solutions in the field of live sound. Thanks to high computing power and an advanced architecture, NEUTRON provides impeccable quality of digital audio signal processing and reliability in the most demanding conditions. Its robust housing with a height of 7U and a depth of 425 mm guarantees convenient installation in standard rack systems, and the weight of 25.5 kg testifies to the use of high-quality components and a thoughtful design.
The device supports a wide input voltage range - from 100 to 240 V at a frequency of 50–60 Hz, which allows it to be used in any power supply conditions. For stable operation, two or three power supplies with different levels of power consumption are provided: from 124 to 158 W depending on the configuration. NEUTRON is resistant to external factors, maintaining its operational performance in the temperature range from +5°C to +40°C, and can be stored even at -20°C.
The system is distinguished by its flexible switching capabilities: eight AES50 ports provide 24 channels of bidirectional digital audio, while HyperMac interfaces (in versions with copper or optical connections) allow the transmission of up to 192 channels in each direction. Thanks to port duplication, the user gets a reliable backup system for critical concert applications.
Additionally, the unit is equipped with professional connectors for synchronization and control: Word Clock IN/OUT (BNC), AES3 Sync IN/OUT (3-pin XLR), as well as Ethernet Tunnel and Control Expansion on RJ45 XLR connectors. This combination of interfaces makes MIDAS NEUTRON the heart of a modern mixing system, combining high performance, reliability and technological flexibility for any live or studio sound task.
