Solid State Logic BiG SiX features the legendary G Series Bus Compressor, ready to add drive, energy, and completeness to your creations. Utilizing the same circuit topology as the original design on the SL 4000 G-Series console, the Bus Compressor on the Solid State Logic BiG SiX features a fixed 4:1 ratio, 30ms attack, and 100ms release. These set-and-forget parameters are a favorite of many SSL console users, who often turn on the Bus Compressor at the beginning of a session and build the mix around it. The Solid State Logic BiG SiX also features the famous 'Auto' release mode, adding even more flexibility to this essential tool for creating 'glue' and energy in your mixes.

Solid State Logic BiG SiX has a classic USB interface for connecting to a PC or MAC. The interface is equipped with 16 high-quality A/D and D/A converters that are connected to the SuperAnalogue™ signal chain in the BiG SiX. The first 12 channels are distributed among the first 12 inputs/outputs and can be switched to pre/post fader. USB channels 13-16 are routed to/from external inputs and master buses. Alternatively, sends 9/10 and 11/12 can be fed from the stereo signal bus. This is ideal for additional ITB processing.

Fast, detailed and very powerful. BiG SiX SuperAnalogue™ preamps can easily handle a variety of microphones (including ribbon mics) thanks to their wide gain range. They feature a dedicated line input with Hi-Z, 48V, high-pass filter, and polarity switch to get the best out of your new and vintage instruments and line-level sources.

Add smoothness, clarity and character with the classic SSL compressor channel. With a software-dependent attack time (8ms — 30ms), release time of around 300ms, and a soft 2:1 ratio, the compressor can handle a wide range of content, making it one of the three compression options offered by BiG SiX.

The Solid State Logic-based channel equalizer on the BiG SiX has its roots in SSL's classic E-Series, replicating its equalization curves at wide settings. It's a three-band design with 3.5 kHz and 60 Hz high-pass and low-pass filters adjustable from +15 dB to -15 dB, and a fixed midrange control at 700 Hz. The high-pass and low-pass bands can be independently switched between shelf and bell-type filters and are available on each channel of the Solid State Logic BiG SiX.
