The SQ-5 mixer is based on the revolutionary Allen & Heath XCVI 96kHz FPGA processor, which provides class-leading high-resolution audio with a signal delay of less than 0.7ms. The SQ-5 has 16 built-in amplifiers and 17 faders and fits into a standard 19-inch rack. The console can handle 48 inputs thanks to a wide variety of expansion racks, has a slot for an additional network card Dante, MADI, Waves and other formats, which expands the possibilities of system integration, separation of FoH / monitors and multi-channel recording.
The built-in SQ-Drive player easily allows you to perform stereo and multi-channel recording of 96 kHz quality directly on a USB medium. The SQ can also be connected to a PC or Mac via USB, functioning as a plug 'n play Core Audio or ASIO audio interface (32x32) with MIDI and DAW control capabilities. Allen & Heath's built-in DEEP signal processing architecture allows you to use boutique compressor or preamp emulators and add them directly to the SQ mixer's inputs and busses without additional system delay or setup failure. The SQ also has a fully integrated Automatic Mic Mixer (AMM), which will be indispensable for sounding conferences, discussions and TV shows.
The SQ interface includes a functional touchscreen with a set of light-up and rotating encoders. The arrangement of channels and mixes on the console can be changed and configured according to the working habits of the sound engineer, color displays and selected names are provided for each channel line. The SQ-5 is equipped with 8 user-defined soft keys, which make it possible to further customize the mixer.
SQ is the foundation of an ecosystem of management applications, remote expansion racks, network cards, and personal mixers that enhance system expandability and integration. The SLink port allows you to connect an Allen & Heath 96kHz expansion channel or a 48kHz channel to the SQ mixer, as well as connect to another SQ, even a dLive system.
