The RME ADI-2 Pro FS R BE is an improved version of the well-known ADI-2 Pro FS BE. This device combines several functions, making it a versatile tool for audio enthusiasts and professionals. It functions as a high-quality DAC (digital-to-analog converter), a USB audio interface, and a Hi-End headphone amplifier.
In the updated version, the SteadyClock jitter compensation technology has been improved. The device supports operation in a frequency range of up to 786 kHz, which allows processing of the highest quality sound. The built-in DSP processor provides additional sound processing, and the presence of an optical output adds flexibility when connecting to various audio systems. The device is connected to the PC using USB.
The front panel has two headphone outputs (Phones 1/2) that support both balanced and unbalanced modes. These outputs have extremely low output impedance and can provide high power for a variety of headphone models. The DAC also has a convenient IPS display that displays settings and parameters, keys for quick access to functions, and volume control.
On the back of the device, there are two analog inputs on combined XLR - TRS 1/4" connectors, which provide a balanced connection. These inputs have sensitivity switching that allows you to adjust the optimal signal level and provide high-quality sound with minimal distortion and a high signal-to-noise ratio. XLR outputs support signal levels up to +24 dBu, and TRS outputs up to +19 dBu, which allows for clear and powerful sound.
There are also digital inputs supporting AES/EBU, SPDIF (coaxial and optical), and ADAT formats. They allow you to connect different digital sound sources, providing flexibility in system settings. Digital outputs are similar to the inputs and include AES/EBU on XLR, SPDIF coaxial, and SPDIF optical. This allows the device to transmit a digital signal in various formats, supporting a sampling frequency of up to 200 kHz, which ensures high-quality audio signal transmission.
A convenient remote control with an extended set of functions is supplied with the converter. The body of the device has compact dimensions (215 x 130 x 44 mm) and a weight of 1 kg, which makes it convenient to place in any workspace.
