The Tascam SS-R250N is a versatile professional SD/USB rackmount recorder and player that combines multi-format recording, advanced networking features and extensive connectivity. Designed for broadcast studios, conference rooms, courtrooms, government agencies, and installations with high reliability requirements, this 2-channel device provides reliable recording from SD/SDHC/SDXC cards or USB drives, as well as file transfer via FTP - automatically or manually.
The unit has two SD card slots, allowing for mirror or relay recording for redundancy. Remote control is available via a mobile app (iOS/Android), PC software, and the RC-SS150 external controller (sold separately). Thanks to the built-in phantom-powered and muted microphone preamp, the SS-R250N can be used without additional mixers. The wide range of interfaces includes analog RCA/XLR inputs and outputs, digital AES/EBU and S/PDIF, and Dante expansion via IF-DA2 card.
The Event List function allows you to automate recording, playback, or downloading according to a schedule - especially useful for broadcasting background music or recording meetings. The device also supports continuous operation even in the event of a power failure by automatically saving open files.
