Modern sound reinforcement and public address systems require equipment that guarantees exceptional sound quality for a wide variety of events. The Dynacord VL212 two-way, full-range speaker system has been acoustically and mechanically optimized for multi-functional applications. The variety of mounting accessories and good looks make the VL212 ideal for use in the most challenging environments. The body of the VL212 is made from birch plywood and is therefore extremely road resistant. The surface is painted with black two-component paint, which can be easily renewed if necessary. Two rugged DND 12350 drivers are used to reproduce low and mid frequencies. The in-line topology guarantees excellent radiation pattern control even in the low and mid frequency range. High frequencies are emitted from a 90°x45° rotatable, CAD-optimized, constant-directional horn equipped with a 1.4-inch Electro-Voice ND6 driver. The VL212 can be used in passive full-range mode, and can also be switched from external mode to "Biamped" mode.
There are factory Linear-Phase FIR presets for the IRIS-Net RCM-26 module and factory presets for conventional digital speaker controllers, such as the DSP244. EASE and Ulysses data enable fast and accurate modeling. The VL212 can be used as a stand-alone general-purpose full-range cabinet or as a satellite or delay cabinet in larger systems. Each transducer is protected from thermal overload by electronic Voice Coil Tracking Protection and halogen protection. This circuit detects the transducer terminal voltage and models the thermal behavior of the transducer voice coils. In the event of possible thermal overload, the power supplied to the speakers is reduced to a safe level. The voice coil overheat protection system has "soft" switching characteristics, so annoying clicks or other sounds are not heard. The circuit automatically resets once the voice coil temperature reaches a safe value. Ultra-durable acoustic foam mounted on a durable powder-coated steel grille protects speaker components from mechanical damage. The connector panel uses two 4-pole Speakon connectors (INPUT/THRU) for secure wiring and easy daisy-chaining with other cabinets. There is a large selection of TUV certified mounting accessories available. A protective cover is available as an option.
