The cartridge is based on a low weight Pocan® body. The 1000 Series utilizes a robust single-layer body that holds the fixed parts securely in place. Made from a special type of ultra-strong, glass-fiber polyester called Pocan, the body can be tightly bonded to the head for maximum efficiency and optimal sound quality. The replaceable stylus fits snugly into the body with a guide bolt, preventing unwanted vibrations that might otherwise affect sound. An integrated mu-metal block keeps the generating parts away from electromagnetic fields that cause hum.

Reduced moving mass is another advantage of the 1000 series. Utilizing a unique ultra-low mass, micro-miniature Alnico V magnet that is manufactured with a precision unattainable by any other manufacturer in the world. A gold-plated nickel rod welded to the magnet provides a ground for the accumulated static charge of the vinyl and stabilizes the cantilever in unwanted vibration conditions. The entire ultra-low mass assembly is then mounted in a special butyl rubber-based polymer with optimized damping characteristics.

Expert tuning determines the correct position of the stylus azimuth, which is important for maintaining correct stereo sound. The azimuth is the angle that the vertical centerline of the stylus makes with the surface of the gramophone trough, and this angle must be exactly perpendicular to the trough. This is usually not a user-adjustable parameter on most budget platters, so it is important that the cartridge leaves the factory with the azimuth set accurately. An incorrectly adjusted azimuth can lead to uneven channel balance and increased crossover between channels, which significantly degrades the stereo image.
