Planar 6 builds on the huge success of the RP8 and RP10 players. This is Rega's first turntable to feature an ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam base (a material developed for the aerospace industry). This material is sandwiched between new HPL laminate (high pressure laminate). HPL is an exceptionally thin and at the same time very rigid material. The Planar 6 features an RB330 tonearm, a dual-layer floating glass plate, a solid aluminum subplate, a new 24-volt motor and a custom drive pulley that features an upgraded drive belt as standard.
Tonearm RB330
The RB330 tonearm was designed using the latest 3D CAD and CAM technologies and is the culmination of over 35 years of tonearm design experience. Featuring an all-new bearing housing and an all-new tonearm tube designed using intelligent mass redistribution, this arm has fewer potential resonance points. Exceptional stability and virtually frictionless motion thanks to new precision bearing assemblies ensures you capture more information from your vinyl than ever before.
Double Brace technology
Rega's Double Brace technology with integrated custom aluminum tonearm and hub supports ensures maximum rigidity and precision.
24V motor
New Rega 24V low noise synchronous motor - each motor is hand matched to its Neo power supply, providing optimal anti-vibration control.
