Description

Bob Marley and the Wailers were a Jamaican band that played ska, rocksteady, and reggae. Founded in 1963 by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer, the band became iconic in the development of reggae music, known for hits like "Simmer Down", "Trenchtown Rock", "Nice Time", "War", "Stir It Up", and "Get Up, Stand Up". In 1974, Tosh and Wailer left the group due to disagreements with the label and ideological differences. Marley continued with a new lineup and released seven more albums. The group disbanded after Marley's death in 1981.

Rastaman Vibration is the eighth studio album by Bob Marley and the Wailers, released in April 1976. It was Marley's first release to reach the US Billboard 200 top 10, peaking at number eight. The album includes the single "Roots, Rock, Reggae" – Marley's only song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Synthesizers are featured prominently, adding a breezy feel to the energetic sound with elements of rock guitar. Critics from Rolling Stone and Village Voice highlighted the album's exploration of pain, anger, and hope among Jamaica’s urban poor, as well as the calm maturity of side two. Though songwriting credits list others, Marley wrote all the songs. Due to a dispute with his former publisher, he assigned credit to friends and relatives to avoid contractual obligations and support them financially. In 1987, a court ruled in favor of Marley’s estate regarding authorship rights.

The album contains 10 tracks.
