Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) is an American rock band formed in El Cerrito, California, in 1967. The group consisted of John Fogerty (vocals, guitar), his brother Tom Fogerty (rhythm guitar), Stu Cook (bass guitar), and Doug Clifford (drums). CCR was one of the most popular and influential rock bands of the 1960s and 1970s. They were known for their rock-and-roll, lyrical, and country-rock songs. The band disbanded in 1972 after John Fogerty decided to pursue a solo career. However, their music continues to inspire and captivate fans worldwide. Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of the most important and influential rock bands of all time. They were pioneers of the country-rock genre and continue to inspire fans around the world.
Pendulum is the sixth studio album by the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released on December 9, 1970. The album is unique in that it contains no cover songs, with all tracks written by John Fogerty. It is also the last album to feature Tom Fogerty with the band, as he left in early 1971 to start a solo career, and the last album solely produced by John Fogerty. *Pendulum* features the use of keyboards and saxophones, which contrasts with previous albums dominated by guitar. The final track of the album, the instrumental *Rude Awakening #2*, showcases an experimental approach to psychedelia. The album was recorded at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco and resulted from an unusually long recording process for the band.
