Elton John is an outstanding British singer, pianist, and composer. He has received high praise from both critics and fellow musicians, especially for his work during the 1970s, as well as for his long-lasting influence on the music industry as a whole. Starting with the formation of his blues band Bluesology in 1962, John quickly developed his musical career. After meeting Bernie Taupin in 1967, they began writing songs together, and John released his debut album "Empty Sky" in 1969. However, his true breakthrough came in the 1970s when his albums began topping the charts in both the US and the UK, starting with "Honky Château" (1972) and ending with "Rock of the Westies" (1975). His hit single "Your Song" marked a breakthrough, establishing him as one of the most significant musicians of his time. Elton John became famous for his unique voice, exceptional piano skills, and dynamic stage presence. His music remains popular and influential to this day, and his contribution to global music culture is enormously important.
Love Songs is a compilation album by English musician Elton John. It became a huge commercial success, topping the charts in three countries and earning platinum certifications in eleven countries and multi-platinum certifications in seven. In the US, it was certified gold in December 1996, platinum in March 1997, double platinum in December 1998, and triple platinum in August 2000 by the RIAA. The album also became the basis for a video compilation, which was initially released on LaserDisc, VHS, and VCD. Some songs from John's previous 1982 album "Love Songs" also made it into this collection, although most were recorded after 1982, when Elton John worked with other lyricists such as Gary Osborne and Tim Rice. The album includes new songs "You Can Make History (Young Again)" and "No Valentines," which were recorded specifically for this release. The UK version of the album had an alternate track order, adding songs like "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues," "Nikita," "True Love" (a duet with Kiki Dee), as well as the original version of "Candle in the Wind."
