Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem, is an American rapper, music producer, songwriter, and actor. In the 2000s, his works were the best-selling in the United States. Throughout his career, he released 11 albums that topped the Billboard 200, and five singles on the Billboard Hot 100, which also reached number one. With 45.1 million albums and 42 million tracks sold in the U.S. as of June 2014, Eminem is the second best-selling male artist of the Nielsen SoundScan era, the sixth best-selling artist in the U.S., and the best-selling hip-hop artist. Rolling Stone included him in their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the king of hip-hop.

Recovery is the seventh studio album by American rapper Eminem, released on June 18, 2010. Unlike his previous works, it featured many outside producers (Alex da Kid, Just Blaze, and Boi-1da), as well as pop artists like Rihanna, Pink, and Lil Wayne. The album focuses thematically on Eminem's personal changes, his inner struggles, and emotional depth. Initially, it was planned to be a continuation of the previous album, Relapse, but later Eminem decided to create a new project with a unique sound. Recovery was a huge success – it topped the charts in the U.S. and 16 other countries, with singles "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie" reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2010, the album became the best-selling worldwide, and in 2022, it earned 8× Platinum certification by the RIAA.
