Vinyl record MUR - Ty [Romantyka] [LP]

MUR – a Ukrainian music band founded in May 2022 by its leader Oleksandr Khomenko. The band's name is associated with the poem by Vasyl Stus "Shcho ty skazav?" ("What did you say?") and the Ukrainian artistic movement that existed after World War II. In August 2022, the band held its first solo concert at Caribbean Club in Kyiv. In their work, MUR blends music and literature, involving well-known Ukrainian artists such as Serhiy Zhadan, Yevhen Yanovych, and Olena Kravets. They also create documentary videos about Ukrainian literature and music, particularly about the song "Shchedryk" and poets like Tychyna, Bahriany, Stus, and Symonenko.

Ty [Romantyka] – the third studio album by the Ukrainian band MUR, released in 2022. It is dedicated to the artists of the Executed Renaissance – an important period in Ukrainian cultural history when many writers and poets were repressed by Soviet authorities. The lyrics for the album were written by the band's leader, Oleksandr Khomenko, and the recording involved prominent Ukrainian cultural figures: Serhiy Zhadan, actress Olena Kravets, and musical groups "heytspich" and "Nazva." The album combines different genres and styles and is described as "the first Ukrainian historical musical album" and "hip-hopera." The title "Ty [Romantyka]" is an allusion to the novella "Ya (Romantyka)" by Mykola Khvylovy, which adds depth and context to the entire album. The album combines music with literature, reflecting the complex history of Ukraine.
