The Beatles is a British rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. It consisted of John Lennon (vocals, guitar), Paul McCartney (vocals, bass guitar), George Harrison (vocals, guitar), and Ringo Starr (drums). The band became one of the most successful and influential music groups in history. They sold over 600 million records worldwide, which is a record for any artist. Their music helped popularize rock music worldwide and changed the cultural landscape of the 1960s. The Beatles experimented with various music styles, including psychedelia, rock music, and experimental rock. The band disbanded in 1970, but their music continues to inspire and captivate people around the world. With the Beatles is the second studio album by the British rock band The Beatles, released on 22 November 1963 on Parlophone. The album features eight original compositions (seven by Lennon–McCartney and "Don't Bother Me", George Harrison's first recorded solo composition) and six covers (mostly of rock and roll and Motown R&B hits). "Don't Bother Me" is Harrison's first solo composition released on a Beatles album. The album was very successful and was included in the lists of the greatest albums of all time, including number 420 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".
