The Cranberries is an Irish rock band formed in 1989 in Limerick, Ireland. The band was initially called The Cranberry Saw Us and consisted of lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan, and drummer Fergal Lawler. However, in 1990, Dolores O'Riordan replaced Niall Quinn, and the band changed its name to The Cranberries. Musically, the band classified themselves as alternative rock, but their sound also includes elements of indie rock, jangle pop, dream pop, folk rock, post-punk, and pop rock. In 1991, The Cranberries signed with Island Records and released their debut album "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" (1993), which became a commercial success.
