The Offspring – an American punk rock band formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, California. Originally known as Manic Subsidal, the band gained popularity in the 1990s along with Green Day, NOFX, and other California punk bands. Over their 39-year career, they have released 10 studio albums and sold over 40 million records. Their most famous album is "Smash" (1994), which includes the hit "Come Out and Play". Although the band's lineup has changed over time, Brian "Dexter" Holland remains the only constant member.

Splinter – the seventh studio album by American punk rock band The Offspring, released on December 9, 2003, by Columbia Records. This was the band's first album without drummer Ron Welty, who was dismissed three weeks before recording began. While the album did not achieve the same commercial success as the band's previous works, it went gold just two months after its release. The album received mixed reviews but continued to sell well, debuting at number 30 on the Billboard 200 with 87,000 copies sold in the first week. The main singles were "Hit That" and "(Can't Get My) Head Around You", while "Spare Me the Details" was released only in New Zealand.
