The EMG 81 is one of the most famous pickups on the guitar market and has earned a cult following. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and narrow-aperture coils, this active humbucking pickup delivers an intense sound with sharp highs and a distinctive midrange. This design makes the EMG 81 ideal for bridge positioning, where it allows leads to easily cut through the most intense mixes.
This pickup can also be used in pairs to create aggressive sounds in bridge and neck positions. Classic combinations include 81/85 pairs or the versatile 81/60 set. The solderless mounting system makes it easy to install and replace pickups, making the upgrade process as convenient as possible.
