The EMG FAT 55 Set (Zebra ) is a classic humbucker designed with traditional tone and advanced technology. At the heart of these pickups are Alnico magnets, which in combination with open magnetic coils deliver rich and warm low frequencies while maintaining clarity in the highs. As a result, the EMG FAT 55 can handle both bluesy riffs and powerful overdriven solos.

To eliminate the hum and noise typical of passive pickups, the FAT 55 uses an external preamp that provides low output impedance.
