The body of the Ibanez TCM50-GBO features the Talman shape, which provides easy access to the upper frets and comfortable playing. The top is made of figured ash, and the bottom and sides are made of sapele, giving the instrument a warm and rich sound. The okume fingerboard has an amaranth inlay and white dot fret markers. The bridge is also made of Pearlhardt and has special Ibanez Advantage pins for easy string changes.
The Ibanez TCM50-GBO is equipped with an Ibanez AP2 magnetic pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-2TM preamp. The latter has a built-in tuner and volume, bass, and tone controls that allow you to easily customize the sound even without connecting the instrument. The 1/4" output jack allows you to connect the guitar to an amplifier or speaker system. The instrument is powered by a single 9-volt battery.
The AEQ-2TM amplifier is specially designed for bass and treble tuning, and allows you to use the built-in tuner without connecting the instrument. The AP2 magnetic pickup perfectly reproduces the natural, warm sound of an acoustic guitar. Amaranth provides a rich midrange with crisp high notes.
The Advantage pins are truly an advantage over traditional pins. They are easier to remove and insert, and the special shape allows for a comfortable grip and prevents the pin from being pushed in too deep. Best of all, with Advantage, the pin and string stay in place.
