The Cort G290 FAT II electric guitar is an updated version of one of the brand’s most successful models, combining classic ergonomics, modern materials, and bold tone. It’s designed for guitarists who expect top-tier quality, reliability, and tonal versatility.
The body is made of alder with a flamed maple top, which not only adds an elegant look but also delivers rich, balanced sound. The neck and fingerboard are crafted from roasted maple — a stable wood with a golden hue that enhances the guitar’s clarity and brightness.
The G290 FAT II is equipped with two Voiced Tone VTH-77 humbuckers, specially developed for Cort guitars. These pickups deliver long sustain and also shine in clean settings, easily handling everything from classic rock to modern metal.
A special wiring scheme with a 5-way selector switch offers great tonal flexibility. Positions 2 and 4 provide sparkling single-coil tones, while positions 1, 3, and 5 deliver the full, rich sound of humbuckers — perfect for adapting to any playing style on the fly.
The Cort CFA-III tremolo system features stainless steel components for extended sustain, quick attack, and excellent tuning stability, even with heavy tremolo use. Combined with Cort locking tuners, the setup ensures solid reliability both live and in the studio.
The neck features Cort’s Ergo-V profile, designed to follow the natural curves of the hand, reducing fatigue during long playing sessions. A compound radius fingerboard (12"–15.75") allows for comfortable chord playing down low and precise soloing higher up the neck.
With Luminlay side dot markers, the player can easily navigate the fretboard even on dark stages — a great advantage for live performances.
