The Cort G290 FAT II (Antique Violin Burst) electric guitar is a modern interpretation of a successful model that has already gained recognition among guitarists worldwide. The new generation features a number of important updates while maintaining the core advantages of its predecessor: excellent ergonomics, high-quality craftsmanship, and impressive sound.
The body of the guitar is made of alder, which gives the sound warmth and depth, while the flamed maple top not only adds brightness to the tone but also creates an eye-catching appearance. The neck and fretboard are made of roasted maple, ensuring the stability of the structure, visual appeal, and a transparent, clear sound.
The sound is delivered by the set of Cort Voiced Tone VTH-77 humbuckers, which were specially designed for perfect integration with this instrument. They are characterized by expressive sustain and the ability to deliver both clean and overdriven tones, covering a wide range of musical genres from classic rock to modern metal.
The special wiring scheme and 5-way selector switch allow for crystal-clear single coil tones in the intermediate positions and powerful, full-bodied humbucker tones in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th positions.
The Cort CFA-III tremolo system with stainless steel saddles ensures precise response, tuning stability, and improved sustain, which is especially important for dynamic playing and expressive solos.
The neck has an Ergo-V profile with a multi-radius (from 12" to 15.75"), making it extremely comfortable for playing chords in the lower positions and fast solos on the higher frets. This neck shape offers comfort and a natural feel regardless of playing style.
The truss rod adjustment is located at the neck's end, making it much easier to set the neck curvature, allowing for quick adjustments to suit an individual playing style.
Luminous side fret markers (Luminlay) help musicians navigate the fretboard even in dark stage conditions, making this model ideal for live performances.
The Cort locking tuners ensure tuning stability and speed up string changes, while the Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut improves vibration transfer and the overall sensitivity of the instrument.
