The Fender 1959 Telecaster Journeyman Relic (Faded Aged Chocolate 3-Color Sunburst) is a modern interpretation of a classic instrument that takes you back to the golden era of the Telecaster. It was created by Fender Custom Shop luthiers for those who appreciate authentic vintage tone, distinctive design, and uncompromising hand-built quality.
The body is made of selected two-piece ash and covered with Journeyman Relic Flashcoat, a proprietary lacquer that mimics the natural wear and tear of an instrument that has been actively used for years. The exquisite Faded Aged Three-Color Sunburst finish emphasizes the wood grain, and the parchment pickguard adds even more authenticity and charm.
The Large “C” profile rift maple neck fits comfortably in the hand and gives a classic feel. The 21 narrow high frets and 9.5” scale radius provide precision for banding and ease of chord progression. The bone fingerboard contributes to the clarity of the sound and the stability of the string.
A pair of hand-wound Custom Shop Texas Special pickups are responsible for the distinctive TV-style tone. They create a signature twang, aggressive midrange, and resonant highs. Thanks to the Fat '50s circuit, the guitar sounds deeper and more voluminous, while maintaining the classic TV-style transparency. The 3-way switch allows you to quickly change the tone from aggressive bridge to mellow neck.
The '50s-style three-saddle, top-loop/string-tour bridge with threaded steel saddles guarantees resonance, precise intonation, and a tangible attack. The vintage-style pegs provide tuning stability and emphasize the retro aesthetic.
